A preliminary study of air borne pollen grains in karachi

Abstract


During may-november , 1978, atmospheric pollen grains of the families gramineae , cyperaceae, chenopodiaceae, boraginaceae, tamaricaceae, scrophulariaceae, fabaceae , solanaceae, primulaceae, capparidaceae, convolvulaceae, cupressaceae , euphorbiaceae and aristolochiaceae were trapped from Karachi area. The highest pollen frequency was recorded in the lat week of june with grass pollen grains dominating in over-all pollen counts . pollen frequency was higher at a height of 15 meters than 1.2 meters.
