Changes in the cellular morphology of bryopsis plumose (bryopsidophyceae) under high hydrostatic pressure and temperature.
ABSTRACT:
Influences of hydrostatic pressure (200- 800 atm ) and temperature )50-150C) applied for 5 hours were studied on the assimilating filaments of B. plumose (hunds) C.A.Ag; the after-effects were observed upto 3 weeks. The cell morphology of the filaments was found to be increasing Ly affected by the rising pressure. The physiological limits of tolerance of the alga were much lower than other observed seaweeds, it seems to be an extremely baophobic, pressure upto 400 atm produced reversible changes. But the higher ones rendered irreversible effects leading to the ultimate death of the thalli either immediately or after sometimes depending on the temperature . increasing temperature decreased the pressure effects.

A phytocociological studt of gadap area. Southern sind.pakistan
ABSTRACT:
Twenty-two stands in gadap area southern sind were sampled quantitatively and soil samples were analysed physically and chemically . the leading dominant technique revealed the ecological affinities among the dominant species. Diversity analysis of leading dominant groups showed minimum diversity for cordia gharaf group and maximum for euphorbia caducifolia group. Species richness was mainly rresponsible for changes in general diversity whereas the equitability component was insignificant. Cover per acre (standing crop) and density per acre of perenntal species were found to be inversely related to diversity measures. Objective classification of vegetation disclosed three community types . community type l, confined to sandy plains, is dominated by pteropyrum olivieri, cordia gharaf and capparis decidua , and appears to be correlated with soils having moderate depth,

Twelve-week-old cotton plants (gossypium hirsutum L.CV. qalandri) were placed in a dew simulation chamber (12 h/night), after bringing the pot soil to permanent wilting percentage . defolation and concomitant shedding of flowers was noticed . subsequently , however , the plants repienished, reflowered and produced new leaves . the so-called negative transpiration was also recorded.

ABSTRACT:
The incidence of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal in the roots and endodonaceous spores in rhizosphere of 128 plants belonging to 37 families collected from hunza. Nagar and gilgit states of Pakistan was investigated. Vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal were of general occurrence in all types of plants except few. VA mycorrhizal infection was also observed in 30 members of 10 families which were generally considered as non-mycorrhizal e.g. amaranthaceae( amaranthus hybriids ), chenopodiaceae ( chenopodium album , C. bitrys , C. foliosum, kochia indica), caryphyllaceae. (cerastium fontanum , stellaria media, silence vulgaris , arenaria, stercularia), cruciferae ( capsella bursapactoris, rorippa indica ), euphorbiaceae, (E. falcate. ABSTRACT:
Carob during its development , contained atleast two gibberellin-like substances . p2 and p4 with the former restricted to GA3 RF. Fruit exhibited active growth only after p2 had achieved its maximum level , so it was a cause and not its result. It exhibited a single peak. While p4 had two. One of the peak was during the dormant period of fruit growth and the other when the fruit had advanced well into its development. Gibberellins were not the main cause of fruit growth but complemented by auxins as well.
